ALB Group acquires Worksop Magistrates Court
Nottingham-based property developer ALB Group has acquired Worksop Magistrate’s Court with a view to creating 13 new apartments in the town centre.The company, which specialises in converting large and disused buildings into residential and commercial properties, has completed the acquisition of Worksop Magistrate’s Court on Peter Street.Worksop Magistrate’s Court, which was last used for a criminal case in 2014, has been part of an extensive closure programme throughout the UK, with the Ministry of Justice having sought to cover a third of its £1.2bn modernisation drive through the sale of courthouses.Building work will begin as soon as planning has been granted, with a view to the new apartments hitting the market in the summer of 2022. The Mansfield office of Banner Jones Solicitors assisted ALB with the acquisition.
